XAware, Inc. has announced the availability of XAware 5.3. Notable additions include improved integration with Salesforce.com, the ability to create data services directly from a standard Web Service Definition Language (WSDL) file and, for enterprise users, monitoring and management services that make it possible to detect and correct runtime issues with operational data services.
XAware 5.3 includes the latest release of the XAware Enterprise Runtime Management(ERM) Console, featuring greater capabilities for managing deployed data services and greater flexibility for statistics reporting. Designed to meet the needs of mission-critical production systems, XAware ERM provides production and operations support personnel the ability to:
- Integrate with customers existing IT Service Management (ITSM) environments, enhancing the visibility of integration services throughout an enterprise;
- Simplify the management and monitoring of deployed applications, saving time and lowering costs associated with managing integration solutions;
- Receive notifications of service performance degradation via the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Console; and
- Monitor deployed services through statistics filtering and component level error counters.
"Business and customer expectations have never been greater - so performance is crucial, especially to the effectiveness of enterprise service-oriented architectures," said Kirstan Vandersluis, chief scientist at XAware. "In addition to providing a real-time data integration environment for creating reusable data services, XAware's Enterprise runtime management capabilities deliver exceptional operational support. XAware tools enable businesses to monitor service execution and quickly detect and correct any runtime issues."
XAware helps users rapidly create and manage data services from disparate data sources. XAware features a rich Eclipse-based development environment and a runtime engine based on the Spring framework, which can be implemented to take advantage of almost any IT infrastructure. XAware makes it easier for organizations to design, deliver and manage data services for service-oriented architecture (SOA), rich Internet applications (RIA) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
XAware 5.3 also includes a number of enhancements, including:
Improved integration with Salesforce. With additional support for batches and joins, the updated XAware Designer wizard enables developers to quickly build services that respond to Salesforce events. This agility assists organizations to identify and take advantage of market opportunities, as well as provide a higher level of customer service.
Data service creation directly from a standard WSDL file. Developers and data architects can now quickly convert a WSDL file defining the requested data operations into an operational web service.
"XAware 5.3 offers valuable benefits to all users," said Tim Harvey, CEO of XAware. "Our open source community has grown at an exceptional rate in its first year. And, with more and more organizations implementing the XAware Engine as a data services layer for SOA and RIA projects, we're experiencing strong demand for our commercial runtime management offering."
Capable of running, managing, and monitoring concurrent services, the XAware Engine can be deployed in a variety of settings:
- Application Servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Oracle 9iAS, Sun Java System Application Server)
- Web Servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat)
- Embedded within custom applications
- Standalone
