Instantiations has announced version 6.0 of CodePro AnalytiX. The new features help developers decrease potential code security vulnerabilities early in the software development lifecycle, improve Java code quality and reduce development costs through increased developer productivity. The company also announced new versions of CodePro Profiler, WindowBuilder Pro, WindowTester Pro and RCP Developer.
The latest version of CodePro AnalytiX adds a number of new OWASP-based security auditing rules, support for mock objects, new rules for web services auditing, and extended JUnit testing support for Spring, Struts and EJB frameworks.
CodePro AnalytiX helps developers detect, report and repair security vulnerabilities and code defects as they write code during the build process. Through CodePro AnalytiX uses intense automation of audits, metrics, and best practices. With this upgrade, Instantiations extends the number of security audit rules to 183, bringing the Java code auditing library to nearly 1,200 rules.
Features include:
- New Security Audit Rules. Version 6.0 adds 25 more OWASP-based rules that help enterprises meet security policy compliance while exposing high-risk runtime vulnerabilities. In addition, a new Threads & Synchronization audit rule category was added.
- Web Services Audit Category Added. Includes 28 new audit rules.
- Mock Objects. Helps quickly and safely simulate the behavior of other objects. Avoid live testing when it would be time consuming, a security issue, or even dangerous - but still check behavior and ensure code quality.
- Extended JUnit Testing Support for Popular Web Application Frameworks. JUnit test generation now supports the most popular frameworks, including Spring, Struts and EJB.
Other product updates:
- CodePro Profiler is a run-time performance analysis tool for Eclipse Java developers; it helps developers to efficiently find performance problems in code during development. Profiler also helps find CPU and algorithmic bottlenecks, memory leaks, threading issues, and other concurrency-related problems that can slow down an application or cause it to crash. Version 2.0 adds many user interface enhancements, as well as improving general performance and providing updated Help, tutorials and documentation.
- WindowTester Pro is a tool for automating the testing of Swing and SWT GUIs. Version 3.6.2 includes a new programmer's guide and API Quick Reference card, as well as core runtime improvements and enhancements to overall product stability.
- RCP Developer provides tools for constructing and testing GUIs, documenting and documenting and packaging rich client applications for deployment to accelerate the creation of Eclipse RCP applications. Version 3.7 includes the WindowTester SWT functionality enhancements updated in WindowTester Pro.
- WindowBuilder Pro is a Java GUI builder that includes Swing Designer, SWT Designer, and GWT Designer. Version 6.9 adds minor functionality enhancements.
