Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced it has been invited to present at the San Francisco MySQL Meetup on May 14, 2014. This Meetup group is for users of MySQL, the most widely used open source, relational database management systems (RDBMS). Bill Clark, BIRT Engineer at Actuate, will provide a hands-on demonstration of how to create data visualizations, analytics and web and mobile applications directly from MySQL databases, using the open source BIRT interactive development environment (IDE), and BIRT commercial products such as the free BIRT Viewer Toolkit™.
BIRT is a top-level Eclipse Foundation project that was cofounded and is supported by Actuate. BIRT also forms the foundation of Actuate’s commercial visualization and deployment platform, BIRT iHub™. BIRT’s extensive APIs empower developers to build and/or embed customized functions into their data-rich, customer-facing applications.
“We’re very pleased to be presenting for the members of the Bay Area MySQL Meetup,” said Clark. “I’ll be demonstrating how, in less than 15 minutes, MySQL data can be easily imported to the BIRT IDE, to create standard charts and tables for embeddable or direct reports. I will also show how easy it is to combine MySQL data with NoSQL data in one visualization.”
Bill Clark has more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. He will show Meetup members how MySQL and BIRT, together, enable developers to easily import data and build reports within web applications, complete with security and interactivity, using an easy to use drag and drop environment.
