Intervoice Announces Support For The Eclipse Foundation

To Leverage Key Features Of The Eclipse Open Source Platform

Intervoice announced its membership in the Eclipse Foundation. Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building software.

"Intervoice has adopted the Eclipse Platform as our framework for delivering development tools for our Media Exchange platform," said Andy Thomas, vice president, product development, Intervoice. "Using Eclipse allows us to focus on developing plug-in technologies that use our core competencies in voice automation while leveraging the features of the Eclipse Platform, which is used by many of our customers for other development projects. It boosts their productivity as our plug-ins can work with other tools they are using."

As an Eclipse Foundation member, Intervoice is well positioned to champion Eclipse Foundation projects that deliver positive benefits to the industry, providing plug-in solutions and alleviating development challenges in creating dynamic voice and multi media solutions.

"We are very excited Intervoice has elected to support the Eclipse Platform," said Mike Milinkovich, executive director, Eclipse Foundation. "As a world leader in converged voice and information solutions, Intervoice brings a wealth of experience in developing voice and mobile applications. Having Intervoice as a member will continue to bring new, dynamic Eclipse-based products to the market."

Intervoice will create additional value for its customers by utilizing the Eclipse Platform. It will allow delivery of a high quality, extensible product, enable integrations to other vendor applications and provide truly converged voice and information solutions. Using Eclipse allows customers to quickly understand the platform architecture without spending excessive time learning each application. In turn, this enables Intervoice and its customers to focus on designing best in class solutions to maximize the end-user experience.
